Chief Relief Commissioner Punjab Nadeem Ashraf, while addressing a meeting regarding relief activities today (Sunday), has said that Punjab Chief Minister has immediately released ten crore rupees to each flood-hit district administration for carrying out relief activities. He also directed district administrations to inform about their requirements so that it could be met on time. In some places, water level has started receding in the rivers. He told that 126 relief camps have been set up in flood-hit areas where food and other essential items are being provided to 278 affectees regularly. Similarly, 22883 animals have also been shifted to safer places. Nadeem Ashraf said that 23700 tents, 126 boats, 54636 mineral water bottles and 36500 food hampers have been provided to the administrations of 18 flood hit districts which have been distributed among flood affectees. He said that district administrations of the province have been directed to compile reports about the damages to houses. He said that strict action will be taken against the departments showing negligence during flood. He said that vaccine and fodder are being provided to the livestock regularly.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) mission headed by Mr. Yutaka Fukase visited the Pakistan from May 25 to June 14, 2014 for the purpose of preparation and updating of the technical cooperation regarding The Project for improving the Capacity of WASAs in Punjab.

3. Heading 4
   Date: 15th July 2014

SUPARCO team visited Urban Unit on September 8. 2014. The intention of visit to start collaboration with Government of Punjab, Urban Planning and Geographical Information System (GIS). The officials of Government of Punjab, Punjab Information Technology Board and the Urban Unit participated. They also presented on Space Technology Applications and showed their work efficiency.

14 officers from Civil Services Academy Walton, Lahore visited The Urban Unit on March 21, 2014. Deputy Project Director The Urban Unit, Ms. Sani-e-Zehra briefed them about different sectors of Urban Unit and explained various concepts of managed urbanization.

5. Establishment of Special Christmas Bazaars
   Date: 22nd December 2014

District Coordination officer Lahore Capt(r) Muhammad Usman has said that it is the top most priority of City District Government Lahore to provide standardized vegetables and fruits to the citizens. He said that CDGL had set up thirteen Sunday Bazaars in all nine towns of the metropolitan city where vegetables and fruits were sold out on cheap and controlled rates. A large number of citizens visited Sunday bazaars to purchase essential commodities. Earlier on Sunday morning, DCO Lahore Capt(r) Muhammad Usman directed all Administrators to visit their respective bazaars to review the arrangements like cleanliness, parking, weight and measures, availability of vegetables and fruits and displaying of rate lists on prominent places in Sunday bazaars. On which, Assistant Commissioners and town administrators inspected all Sunday bazaars. Mr. Usman said that whole arrangements were satisfactory in all bazaars. He also said that CDGL was going to functional Christmas Bazaars in Shalimar and Gulberg town from tomorrow for which all necessary arrangements have been completed.
